MCB (Missing Child Bureau)
The Missing Child Bureau was established as per the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000 and the rules there under by the Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD) in 2007. The Government of Karnataka appointed the Bangalore Oniyavara Seva Coota (BOSCO), Bangalore, as the nodal agency for implementing the project in the State. Missing Child Bureau (MCB) is a web based programme to trace the Missing Children and help them to reconnect with family. Don Bosco PYaR began to function as the Missing Child Bureau, Gulbarga District Cell from November 2009. The project initially implanted in collaboration with BOSCO Yuvodaya, Bangalore and the Dept. of Women and Child Development is currently supported by Bangalore Rural Education and Development Society (BREADS), Bangalore.
The objectives of the project are:
• To trace missing children using Homelink Software and reunite them with the family.
• To identify, collect and collate the data of the unaccompanied children.
• To increase awareness on the issues related to missing children.
• To network with Government and Non Governmental agencies to make a child safety net.
