Visually Challenged Woman Rescued Back
Dundamma, congenitally visually challenged, a native of Khadadal Chincholi, Afzalpur, Kalaburagi, was found by CHILDLINE staff on duty at the Central Bus Stand suffering from a labor pain on October 24, 2015.

As she was alone, staff enquired about her of relatives but she said that she was alone and that her husband had abandoned her. There was no one to help her. Hence, the District Surgeon was contacted and she arranged an Ambulance immediately.

The woman was taken to Govt. hospital Kalaburagi. As the lady had required a Caesarean section, she was directly taken to the Operation Theatre. A few hours later she gave a birth to a female baby. Later on, the baby was admitted to ICU.

“If not for the kindness of the people of this organization, me and my unborn child would have died on the street with no one to help us”, says Dundamma. The mother and child were later on shifted to Govt. Shelter Home and are reported to be in good health.
