Mother Abandons Child Due to Spousal Quarrel Back
On February 28, 2016, one of the police personnel from Rural Police Station, Kalaburagi telephoned CHILDLINE 1098 and said that there is a child in need of care and protection. The rescue team immediately went to the place and found that the general public had handed the infant over to an old couple residing in the premises of a wayside temple. As police arrived on the scene, the rescue team secured the child and went to the concerned police station.

The police during the preliminary enquiry in one of the areas near Aland Check-post, traced the mother of the child and summoned her to the police station. Few other family members who came with the mother of the child said that she had abandoned the baby in a field following a quarrel with her husband who is living in Hyderabad. The police verified the documents produced by the mother, warned her and handed over the baby to her after obtaining a written undertaking from the mother that she would care for child in the best manner possible.
