Unorganised workers should be aware of labour laws to fight for their rights; R. Venkatesh Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Kalaburagi, said on the occasion of International Domestic Workers Day celebrated on 6th of July at Pandit Rangamandira, Kalaburagi. It was jointly organized by District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, District Legal Service Authority (DSLA), Department of Women and Child, Department of Labour, Domestic Workers Union, Samskar Prathisthan and Don Bosco.
Meritorious children of unorganised workers who have secured good marks in PUC and SSLC examinations were felicitated on the occasion. S R Manikya, Member Secretary of District Legal Servicces Authority, Geeta Menon, State secretary of Stree Jaruti Samiti, k. Neela, State vice-prsident of Janwadi Mahila Sanghatane, Mahadevi Ramchandra, District President of the Karnataka State Domestic Workers Union, Sr. Reena, Secretary, Domestic Workers Union, Kalaburgi and Fr. Saji, Director, Don Bosco were present.
